Young Composer of Dyfed

Competition Results

There are three categories of entrant: Group A - under 16 years old; Group B - 16 to 18 years old; Group C - 19 to 22 years old

Each group winner receives a prize: Group A £100; Group B £150; Group C £200.

Additionally, there is an overall winner, the Young Composer of Dyfed (who need not be one of the group winners) who receives £250 and the Carmarthen Arts challenge shield. This was not the case for the first competition in April 2002, when one group winner was named 'Young Composer of Dyfed'.

Since the 2005 final, the audience has been invited to choose its favourite work (prior to the adjudicator's announcements). The composer of this receives the Greenhalgh prize of £100 and the Greenhalgh trophy.
